Tanks a lot- Warneet and Blind Bight CFA captain Hans DeKraker presents Casey mayor Lorraine W

TWO new water tanks have been put to good use in Warneet.
The 22,700 litre static water tanks, installed a few months ago, have helped the Warneet fire brigade with their monthly training.
Brigade captain Hans DeKraker said the tanks held recycled water, which meant they were a good option for the brigade to use for training purposes as well as fighting fires.
“The main reason is for the fires, but because it’s recycled water we can use it for training rather than using good quality water,” Mr DeKraker said.
On Monday, Mr DeKraker presented a cheque of more than $7000 to City of Casey mayor Lorraine Wreford for the tanks.
The tanks were funded as part of the Fire Access Roads Subsidy Scheme (FARSS) and the Natural Disaster Resilience Grant Scheme.
“These schemes create an environment for even better response times for the fire brigade and therefore a greater level of community safety,” Mr DeKraker said.
