CASEY residents are invited to make a splash this weekend to help celebrate the first birthday of the $37.9 million Casey RACE.
Families are encouraged to visit the state-of-the-art leisure and aquatic centre in Cranbourne this Sunday and enjoy a host of activities including giant inflatable pool equipment, face painting, an aquatic disco, craft activities and a sausage sizzle.
Since opening in June last year, more then 516,000 people have visited Casey RACE, which mayor Lorraine Wreford said exceeded the council’s expectations.
About 2800 people have signed up as members to the centre. Some of the features of Casey RACE include water slides, a splash park area, tipping bucket, gymnasium, 50-metre pool and crèche.
Families can visit the centre on 13 June from 8am to 8pm for the birthday celebrations. Discounted entry fees apply and half of the fees collected will go towards the YMCA’s Open Doors program, to support people experiencing disadvantage in the community.
