THE $2.4 million children’s centre construction in Cranbourne North is among the highlights in this year’s Casey Council budget.
The centre at Carlisle Park will include a new double room kindergarten, maternal and child health offices, a multi-purpose function room and a community meeting room.
Another $1.273 million will go towards a new children’s centre at Hallam Primary School.
In the sporting field, the $45 million capital works program includes $320,000 for the Cairns Road Recreation Reserve pavilion upgrade at Hampton Park, a new soccer pavilion worth $685,000 at Chalcot Lodge Reserve in Endeavour Hills and $250,000 to build a new pavilion at Banjo Paterson Park in Lynbrook.
Casey ARC will receive an $882,500 for upgrades including gym equipment replacement and a health club extension, while $1.42 million will be spent to construct a rugby pavilion, change rooms and kitchen at Casey Fields.
Other highlights include:
-$550,000 for extension works at The Factory
-$3 million for works at Grices Road Reserve in Berwick
-$455,00 for various playground upgrades
-$3.5 million on the road rehabilitation program
-$680,000 on the local traffic management program
-$220,000 on the pedestrian crossing program
– $608,000 on the Berwick Village Streetscape Works
