MONEY raised for an injured player at Pearcedale Football Club was stolen from the club rooms this month.
Police said two safes with money from fundraising and general takings were stolen from the club about 3am on 14 May. Thieves broke a lock on the front door and stole the safes, which were later recovered in the Patterson River, police said. Two males were seen in a pre-1990 sedan, and police are appealing for more information.
