Bank’s birthday

TOORADIN celebrated the first birthday of its first bank last week.
Since opening its doors a year ago, more than 900 customers have joined the Tooradin and Coastal Villages Bendigo Bank branch, which is the first and only bank for the coastal villages.
Manager Darryl Sutcliffe said the first year had been a successful one.
“We’re right on track in terms of where we’re expected to be,” he said.
The celebrations last Friday were a “bells and whistles” affair to thank members of the community for their support for the bank, Mr Sutcliffe said.
“We’re very appreciative of them for their support of us.”
He hoped the bank’s involvement with community groups would continue into the future.
“Our focus is to get more entangled with the community groups that we already have relationships with.
“The amount of people and the network of people I’ve tapped into have been great.”
The bank had supported local events and groups including the Tooradin Tractor Pull, a coastal villages festival, Lions club events and local school endeavours.
