Shaw killing probed

DETECTIVES have renewed their calls for help to find those responsible for an attack in Cranbourne North last year that left a 24-year-old Hampton Park man dead.
Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for anyone who saw a black Chrysler 300C sedan near the intersection of the South Gippsland Highway and Huon Park Road about 9.45pm on 12 September to come forward.
Scott Shaw, 24, from Hampton Park, and Troy Broughton, 23, of Dandenong North, suffered severe head injuries after they were allegedly attacked by a number of men with weapons at the intersection.
Mr Shaw died in hospital on 18 September.
Police appealed for public assistance to the “brutal” attack last year and this week said they are still looking for the occupants of the vehicle they believe pulled up beside Mr Shaw’s car at the time of the assault.
Mr Shaw and Mr Broughton were travelling in a blue Holden Commodore sedan and had parked in a service lane on the south eastern side of the intersection.
Police believe the second vehicle pulled up beside the car and the occupants then became involved in an altercation with Mr Shaw and another man.
Anyone who saw the Chrysler in the vicinity of Huon Park Road and Lawless Drive or has any information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
