FIREFIGHTERS carefully pulled a car from a Hampton Park home after it crashed into a house, shifting its foundations.
Crews from Hampton Park, Hallam and Dandenong worked at the scene after a Holden Commodore sedan that was heading north along Hallam Road struck the corner of the brick house near Village Drive on 18 April.
Lieutenant Troy Smith from the Hampton Park Fire Brigade said there was a potential risk of a gas leak after the car also crushed the gas meter.
The force of the impact shifted the house’s foundations slightly, cracked brickwork and twisted windows and doors out of shape.
Lt Smith said stabilising equipment was used on the house as the car was removed.
The two males in the car were taken to hospital for treatment.
