THERE was plenty of colour and fun during Cranbourne Secondary College’s athletics carnival last week.
Rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of students who participated in the many track events at Ballam Park near Frankston last Thursday.
Sports co-ordinator Kate Faulkner said one of the highlights of the day was when a students broke a 23-year-old record for the 16 boys’ 800 metres event.
Staff members also took to the track and competed against the senior students in a relay.
The male staff members had no luck against the senior boys, but the female staff managed to beat the senior girls in their relay.
Poole House came from behind to win late points in the relay events and were the winning house on the day.
Facey House came second, followed by Donnelly and Brunt.
