GOLFERS at Sandhurst Club will be sporting some bad taste for a good cause this weekend.
Players participating in the Bad Pants Invitational are encouraged to dress badly to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
The dress code will be strictly enforced, with golfers getting fined $20 if they turn up well dressed.
Bad Pants Invitational co-ordinator Shane Bowley said the beige shirt should be replaced with a lairy one for the event on 28 March.
“Course stewards will be wanting to see bright, garish colours such as combinations of yellow, red, fluoro pink and bright purple to uphold the quality of the presentation of the event,” Mr Bowley said.
“Unusual outfits are encouraged. One year we had a women’s team dressed as Easter bunnies with fluffy pink tails that confused the local wildlife as well as the other golfers.”
Prizes will be awarded to the best badly dressed team and individual.
Anyone interested in the golf day can contact the Sandhurst golf shop on 8787 7022.
