A HAMPTON Park building surveyor and draftsman has been recognised for his commitment to continuing professional development.
Mike Mettes won the 2009 Five-Star Sustainability Award for continuing professional development at the Building Commission’s annual awards at Docklands last week.
Mr Mettes, the principal at DCI Building Services, received $1000 to invest in future professional development activities.
Building Commissioner Tony Arnel said continued professional development was necessary for practitioners who sought success in the Victorian building industry.
“Congratulations to Mike for his commitment to continued learning, which has enhanced his design and construction knowledge so he better understands the environmental impact of his work,” Mr Arnel said.
“Mike has taken his learning to a whole new level last year and this has earned him not only recognition in the form of an award, but also positively impacted his workplace.”
