CRANBOURNE Carlisle Primary School students welcomed Education Minister Bronwyn Pike last week to officially open the new school.
The state-of-the art Cranbourne North school opened this year, with more than 170 students enrolled and the capacity to cater for about 475.
Some of the features of the new school include electronic whiteboards and multimedia systems, a wetland, learning spaces with natural light, indoor gymnasium, and integrated science, technology and art spaces.
Students said it was an honour to show Ms Pike around their school.
The school is one of five built as part of the State Government’s public-private partnership program, with six more to follow next year.
Principal Cheryl Irving said the partnership had been strong and successful.
“Together we will continue to value our diversity and ensure ‘many voices, one community’,” Ms Irving said.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera thanked the local school community for their enthusiasm and commitment to the project.
