Cinderella steps out

By Bridget Brady
CINDERELLA and her ugly stepsisters will take the stage in Cranbourne next week during a BATS Theatre Company adaptation of the fairytale.
More than 20 cast members, most of them under the age of 18, will perform in four shows at the Cranbourne Community Theatre, starting on 29 March.
BATS Theatre Company publicity co-ordinator Brooke Hunter said audiences could look forward to a humorous adaptation of the traditional Cinderella, written by Donna and Peter Dowler and directed by Susan Bergman.
Ms Hunter said the show would include music and dance and was suited for all ages.
“It’s that little bit quirky and funny but there is still the traditional storyline with just the added fun,” she said.
Ms Hunter encouraged people to support the production as BATS Theatre Company was not for profit and relied on council grants and the contribution of community members.
Dates for the shows are: 29 March at 7pm, 30 March at 1pm, 31 March at 11am and 7pm and 1 April at 1pm.
Tickets cost $10. For bookings call 0411 316 074.
