AFTER two and half years work, the first Cranbourne Community Market will be held at the Turning Point Family Church next weekend.
Market co-ordinator Kathey Blackmont said she was stressed and excited that the market would begin on 27 March after much hard work and campaigning.
Organisers received $26,239 of State Government funding in June last year to help establish the market.
Stalls will include art, craft, food and plants among other things. Interested stall holders are still encouraged to contact organisers.
Ms Blackmont said money raised from the market would help support the Room to Grow Community Garden at the church grounds, which provides educational opportunities for students and other benefits to the community.
Ms Blackmont said the aim of the market was to connect with the local community, provide training opportunities for volunteers and job seekers and support local farmers and art and craft producers.
The market will be held on the fourth Saturday of the month.
Any interested stall holders can contact Kathey on 5996 3048 or Daryl on 0417 812 012.
The first market will be held from 9am to 1pm on 27 March at the Turning Point Family Church at 1785 South Gippsland Highway, Cranbourne.
