POLICE charged a 43-year-old man after he allegedly robbed and threatened an elderly woman with a hammer in her Cranbourne North home.
Police said a man raided an elderly couple’s house in Filimena Court about 4pm last Wednesday and disturbed the woman who he threatened with a hammer.
It is believed the man fled with cash and jewellery.
Police said they searched a nearby house and found several suspected stolen items.
Police charged the man with two counts each of armed robbery and aggravated burglary, four counts of burglary, five counts of theft and one of indecent assault.
The charges related to offences that took place in the Cranbourne area since 14 February, police said.
