School hosts movie night

By Bridget Cook
HAMPTON Park Primary School will host a free Twilight Movie Night this Friday for the local community.
Families can pack popcorn and a picnic blanket and enjoy the free movie on the Hampton Park Primary School oval on 12 February from 7pm.
The evening will start with a few games and activities and the movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, will be screened at dusk.
The Hampton Park Scouts will also be running a sausage sizzle.
The movie night was held for the first time in 2007 and has proven popular with the community, particularly for Hampton Park Primary School students and parents who have the opportunity to meet and get to know each other at the start of the new school year.
Local businesses and other sponsors have helped fund and the support the evening and arrange the large screen and movie projection.
Local MP Anthony Byrnesaid the school had created a great local initiative.
“The Twilight Movie Night brings families together and fosters a strong sense of community,” he said.
“The hard work of the Hampton Park Primary School Council and the generosity of local business has made this event possible and allowed the movie to be free of charge for those who attend.
“I encourage families to come along and enjoy a night of entertainment.”
