TWO Pearcedale Football Club players will not take to the field this season, after the league suspended their permits following an end-of-season trip that resulted in two trashed motel rooms.
All 21 players involved in last year’s footy trip to Warrnambool were each required to provide a written explanation to the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (MPNFL) as to why they shouldn’t be deregistered.
MPNFL operations manager Ian Benson this week confirmed two players won’t play this season.
“Two players’ permits won’t be reinstated until 1 October 2010,” Mr Benson said.
The league also placed the Pearcedale Football Club on a $10,000 bond for five years.
After the incident, the Pearcedale Football Club said it would discipline and educate the players involved.
The club did not provide comment on the two suspended playing permits before the News went to print.
