POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an assault at the Cranbourne Railway Station last month where a man was punched in the head.
The 19-year-old Cranbourne man was getting off the train about 1am on 15 December when an offender stepped on the back of his heel, which he ignored.
The offender then punched the Cranbourne man once to the head, which police said caused him to fall to the ground and briefly lose consciousness.
The victim received two chipped teeth, a bruised jaw and minor lacerations on his right arm.
Police said three men and two women accompanied the offender on the train.
The offender is described as Caucasian, in his late teens, of solid build and has short blonde hair.
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
