FRESH summer produce and a range of beers are some of the items to tempt shoppers at this weekend’s Pearcedale Farmers’ Market.
Market committee organiser Pam McClean said Grand Ridge Brewery’s return to the market would entice beer lovers with old favourites and new varieties.
“January’s market will feature a range of beer that is perfect for matching with different foods and the change in season,” Ms McClean said.
“Eric Walters (from Grand Ridge Brewery) and his team are beer makers who enjoy educating shoppers about their beer varieties.
“Taste testing is what sets a farmers’ market apart from supermarket shopping.
“It adds to the experience of the family who get to know the people who are making and growing the food they are taking home.”
Customers could make the most of ripe fruits at the market this Saturday including strawberries, peaches and nectarines.
Other items available at the market include vegetables, freshly baked bread, hot breakfast and coffee. The market is held on the third Saturday of each month and craft work is available at the Pearcedale Craft and Produce Market on 6 February.
Both markets aim to support local families who bake, grow or make the produce and wares they sold.
The market will be held from 8am to 1pm on 16 January at 710 Baxter-Tooradin Road next to the Pearcedale Recreation Reserve.
