Club’s grand plan

By Bridget Brady
Mr Bray is keen to revamp the club’s profile and make it more of a “professional” place to hit the courts for current and prospective players.
The club has called for interest in all senior coaching positions and for the first time will conduct selections for their junior sides.
“We want to take the club into a new, professional direction next year,” Mr Bray said.
The club has not had a major sponsor for about five years, instead relying on players and parents to organise fund-raising events. Gaining that sponsorship would be another focus for the year, Mr Bray said.
“Being a netball club it’s pretty hard to get sponsorship. The biggest problem in the last few years has been our sponsorship. Hopefully we can get one on board to help push the club into the future and into a direction that we need to go.”
Mr Bray said a “buddy” system would be introduced this year, where a junior player would be paired with a senior player to look up to for the season.
Depending on numbers, reserve teams may be introduced for the junior grades, Mr Bray said.
“The league is pushing all the clubs to get reserve teams going…it would add depth to the club.”
A junior development Under 11s team will also be a new addition for next season.
The junior selections for any interested players will take place at 6pm on 11 December at Casey Fields.
If anyone is interested in coaching positions or sponsorship contact Paul Bray on 0438 103 036.
