Top day on the greens

– Bridget Brady
ABOUT 120 people enjoyed a day of golf in the sunshine on Tuesday and helped raise money for the Rotary Club of Cranbourne.
Local business people teed off for a good cause at the Ranfurlie Golf Course for the Rotary Club of Cranbourne’s 43rd golf day, which is one of the club’s biggest fundraising events for the year.
Golf day chairman Lea Corrigan said he anticipated the club raised about $10,000 to $12,000. The money would be used for various projects throughout the year.
Mr Corrigan said the day was very successful.
“It was a lovely day and the course was in outstanding condition after that bit of rain we had. It was spectacular,” he said.
Sporting memorabilia was also auctioned off on Tuesday.
“The fact that we were able to get that course for the day is a wonderful gesture on behalf of the Amstel Golf Club members. To let us take over a course of that quality it says a lot.
“It was a top day.”
