THE Pearcedale community gathered for a successful Remembrance Day service last week.
Organiser and president of the Pearcedale Public Hall Committee Maureen Smollen said the support from the local community to hold the sixth Remembrance Day service was fantastic.
Pearcedale Primary School Grade 6 students participated in the service.
“It is wonderful to see so many younger adults taking an interest in Remembrance Day as this will keep alive the meaning of Remembrance in the years to come,” she said.
Invited guests included Casey mayor Geoff Ablett, Hastings MP Neale Burgess, Lieutenant-Commander Sowden from HMAS Cerberus, Corporal Belinda Rowe from the Royal Australian Army Ordinance Corps and Cheryl Myers from the Vietnam Veterans Association.
