THE Rotary Club of Cranbourne is encouraging people to tee off to support the local community for its 43rd annual golf day this month.
The golf day is one of the club’s major fundraising events for the year and will be held at the Ranfurlie Golf Course in Cranbourne on 24 November.
Golf day chairman Lea Corrigan said Cranbourne residents and business people had a great opportunity to play on a members-only course and enjoy an entertaining day. He said about 150 people usually participated in the day.
“It gives a lot of the general public a chance to play on a highly regarded course and for a good cause,” Mr Corrigan said.
The Rotary Club of Cranbourne will use the money collected from the day for various projects throughout the year.
Supporting the bushfire recovery process was one of the focuses of the club last year.
Mr Corrigan said the club relied on members of the public to support the event, and by doing so they helped the local community.
“We go to a bit of trouble to make it a very good day’s entertainment.”
The closing date for entries is 17 November. For information call Lea Corrigan on 0419 389 013.
