Prepared Preps

PROSPECTIVE Preps got a taste of school life at Kilberry Valley Primary School recently.
The school offers children who are enrolled to start at the Hampton Park school next year the chance to make two visits to the school as part of its transition program held each year.
Children attended the school for the morning and spent some time in the classroom, took part in activities, had a story read to them, and headed outside for a look around.
Prep co-ordinator and teacher Rebecca McLaren said the purpose of the transition program was to get children excited about starting school and make some new friends.
“They absolutely love it and once they leave they are smiling and they bounce out the door,” she said.
“It’s all about building up confidence for both parents and children.”
There are five Prep classes at the school this year and that may expand to six classes next year.
