Grants boost for groups

TEN community groups in the Cranbourne area have received a financial boost after the announcement of The Hunt Club Community Fund grant recipients.
Among the recipients are the Devon Meadows Fire Brigade, which will use the money to purchase a heating and cooling unit; Cranbourne Scouts for refurbishments to their kitchen; St Vincent de Paul in Cranbourne for support of the back-to-school program; and Willora Pre-School to install a rain water tank.
The Hunt Club Community Fund is an annual initiative by the estate’s project manager, the Dennis Family Corporation, to provide financial support to local community groups.
During the past eight years, the fund has donated almost $10,000 to numerous local not-for-profit organisations.
Dennis Family Corporation executive director Adele Levinge said many applications were received from a diverse range of worthwhile organisations.
“Each of these groups makes an outstanding contribution to the Cranbourne community and we look forward to this extra funding being used for a wide range of activities that will benefit the large number of residents,” Ms Levinge said.
Other recipients included Busy Bees Playgroup, Casey Indoor Auskick, Casey-Cardinia Library Corporation, Cranbourne and District Toy Library, Merinda Park Learning and Community Centre and Woodbine Road Pre-School.
