STUDENTS from five Cranbourne primary schools showed their true colours in support of the MRA Cranbourne GP Run by decorating more than 100 flags to be displayed along High Street at the event.
Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said the project provided an opportunity for local students to get into the spirit of the awards.
“At the MRA Cranbourne GP Run all of the riders and spectators will get the opportunity to view the artwork created by talented and enthusiastic students at local Cranbourne schools,” Cr Ablett said.
Casey councillor and chairperson of the MRA Cranbourne GP Run organising committee, Kevin Bradford said the council-supported project would contribute positively to the atmosphere and community spirit at the event.
“The flags will be a colourful spectacle and I’m sure the local students will be both proud and excited to see their artwork displayed in public,” Cr Bradford said.
“The MRA Cranbourne GP Run is one of the most exciting community events in Victoria, so it is fitting that the local community is involved in the lead-up to and on the day.”
