THE Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce (CCC) will have 3000 booklets full of vouchers for local businesses to hand out at the MRA Cranbourne GP Run.
CCC president Judy Davis said people would have to snap up the booklets quickly, as about 10,000 people were expected to attend the event.
The booklets will have about eight pages of vouchers that will include discounts or other specials or deals to use in Cranbourne shops that day, or valid until a future date.
“We want people to get to know what is in their wonderful town of Cranbourne,” Ms Davis said.
Traders who may not get much business on the day still have the opportunity for recognition as people peruse the streets and discover what is in Cranbourne and come back at a later date, Ms Davis said.
She is also hoping traders reap the rewards of the large crowds by opening for business on Sunday.
She said many motorbike enthusiasts visited Cranbourne on Sunday on their way home from Phillip Island.
“People start coming back home about 3pm on Sunday and I went down there last year and they were all looking for somewhere to stop and have something to eat or drink.
“Traders could definitely make the most of it.”
Ms Davis said the weekend was a good opportunity to offer sales on Saturday when the thousands of people lined the streets.
“I hope that they take the opportunity to advertise their shop because there are so many people in the town.”
