All out for the run

MASSIVE crowds are expected to line the streets of Cranbourne this Saturday for one of the town’s biggest events of the year.
Revheads will start their engines at 10am when former Hawthorn player Michael Tuck waves off the thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from High Street to send them on their journey as they travel en-masse to 2009 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The wave-off event is nationally recognised as a fantastic, energy-filled day and motorcycle enthusiasts are again tipped to come from far and wide to attend the event.
This year’s Motorcycle Riders’ Association Australia (MRA) Cranbourne GP Run promises to be an action-packed family event, with activities starting from 8.15am.
Some of the free activities on offer include the Sandwizard activity centre, face painting and go-karts.
For the first time this year, all family activities will be extended until 11am to keep families entertained after the wave-off.
Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said he was excited about this year’s event and encouraged all families in the area to attend.
There will be a number of road closures and traffic conditions in place on Saturday.
The southbound carriageway of High Street, between Stawell Street and Sladen Street, will be closed, while through traffic will continue to operate in both directions on the northbound carriageway.
There will be no access to High Street from Stawell Street, Lyall Street, Bakewell Street and Childers Street.
