JUDY Davis was re-elected as the president of the Cranbourne Chamber of Commerce (CCC) at the group’s annual meeting on Tuesday night, saying her goal was to double membership numbers to 100.
“With more members, we can roar, not squeak,” she said.
“We are a fun group, but we are serious about Cranbourne. We are not just a small town anymore, we are the town to live in and work in.”
Ms Davis said her eight months as president since she took over from Noel Ridler had been a mixture of “excitement, wonderment, fun and business”.
She thanked her hard-working executive committee, Casey Council and Mayfield Ward councillors Amanda Stapledon and Kevin Bradford for their support.
The monthly networking meetings and newsletter had both been successful, she said.
For the upcoming MRA Cranbourne GP Run, the chamber would produce a booklet of vouchers for local businesses and hand them out at the wave-off to promote Cranbourne traders.
Judy Clarkson retired from the executive and was recognised for her support to the chamber, of which she has been a member for 39 years.
The new CCC executive is: president, Judy Davis; vice-president, Neil Bainbridge; treasurer, Silvio Marinelli; assistant treasurer, Erin Webb; secretary, Nick Morgione. General committee: Toni Van Den Broek, Chris Russell, Lee-Anne West and Jaimie Khan.
