Youth grants chance

YOUNG people in the City of Casey can apply for grants of up to $5000 as part of National Youth Week 2010.
Three different types of grants are offered by National Youth Week and the Office of Youth in partnership with the national depression initiative, Beyondblue.
Groups supported by local government, not-for-profit organisations or schools are eligible to apply.
Two separate $2000 grants are on offer to those working on either a community based project or an event focused on mental health and well-being.
Young people that demonstrate a collaborative partnership with two or more organisations working across Casey are eligible for the $5000 grant.
Inga Peulich, Member for the South Eastern Metropolitan Region and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Communities said the grants recognise the value of all young people in their local communities.
“Our youth have the ability to make a big difference to our community, and many who contribute should be very proud of their efforts.
“I urge all our youth to take a little time to think about how valuable they are and to submit a request for a National Youth Week grant,” Ms Peulich said.
Applications will be open until the end of October 2009 and guidelines and application forms are available via www.ingapeulich.org.
