TOORADIN will play host to the Casey’s hottest rising stars in October, with ‘Sounds of Spring’.
The City of Casey and Spectrum Entertainment, which is made up of young people from Casey, are bringing the event to Tooradin on 2 October, between 6pm and 10pm.
The festival will feature rock and acoustic music including 2007 City of Casey Battle of the Bands winner Silver Reasons, And I Swear It’s The Last Time, A Sleepless Melody, Goodbye Sky Harbour, While the City Sleeps, Lauren Delbridge, Say it With Me and Jessica Freeman.
City of Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said he was impressed that the Spectrum Entertainment Committee took the initiative to hold the event in the rural coastal village of Tooradin.
“Sounds of Spring is an energetic youth event, which will include live music and market stalls, giving young people in isolated areas, and from across Casey, an opportunity to enjoy an impressive night of entertainment close to home,” he said.
City of Casey youth and family services manager Lee McIntosh encouraged young people in Casey to attend the event.
“This FreeZA event promises to deliver a spectacular night of entertainment and talent, and it is definitely an event to be at,” Ms McIntosh said.
Presented by Spectrum Entertainment, Sounds of Spring is a fully-supervised, drug, alcohol and smoke-free event for people of all ages.
Entry at the door cost $8 without a pass, or $6 with a pass. Passes are available from all City of Casey Customer Service and Youth Information Centres.
The event will be held on 2 October at Tooradin Public Hall, 11 Tooradin Station Road, Tooradin.
