CRANBOURNE Secondary College students got a taste of racing history this week when 1992 Melbourne Cup winner Subzero visited the school.
Local trainer Pat Hyland joined the 21-year-old grey gelding as part of the Subzero Goes to School program, which aims to introduce students to thoroughbred racing and educate them on potential career paths within the industry.
Year 9 curriculum leader Paul Evans said the students thoroughly enjoyed Subzero’s visit on Monday as part of the career journey program for Year 9 students.
“There was massive enthusiasm. They loved it,” he said.
