Animal rescue

THE Animal Cruelty Hotline will have rescue vehicles standing by to protect animals and help farmers this fire season.
As firefighters prepare their crews, Barrie Tapp from the Animal Cruelty Hotline said it was important not to forget about the animals this fire season.
“We don’t want the same thing to happen as last time. We had cattle burnt to death. It is just horrible.” Mr Tapp said the rescue units could assist farmers with the transport of their cattle and he encouraged people to call the 24-hour service on 1800 751 770.
