Students learn power of green

By Lia Bichel
STUDENTS at Devon Meadows Primary School have learned about the importance of going green.
Teacher Claire Bourke said the students have been learning about sustainability, with a focus on renewable energy sources.
“As part of the work, they had to research a renewable energy source and present an exhibition on it,” she said.
“The students worked extremely well throughout the term to produce exhibitions of a very high standard on current topics such as geothermal power, carbon footprint, solar power, wind power, wave power, hydro power, energy saving tips and new inventions.”
Parents and friends were invited to view the exhibition.
“It was a fantastic day,” Ms Bourke said.
“The students learnt a lot and are now trying to be much ‘greener’ people!”
