TOORADIN Primary School students have discovered that Sawtells Inlet is alive.
Students are taking part in the Waterwatch program that aims to increase community understanding and ownership of local rivers and creeks.
Working with Waterwatch the students learnt how to assess the health of Sawtells Inlet like scientists.
Water quality analysis tests and flora and fauna surveys were conducted. Students found that Sawtells Inlet is home to birds, fish, mangroves and water bugs.
The students want the Tooradin community to take time to notice the animals and plants unique to this place.
