Rubbing shoulders

By Bridget Cook
CHILDREN flocked to Cranbourne Homemaker Centre last Sunday to get up close and personal with some AFL stars and feathered and furry friends.
Cameras were clicking away as children lined up to a get a photo with local football identities Colin Garland and John Meesen from the Melbourne Demons Football Club, and some animals from ‘Animals On The Move.’
The players were greeted by many of their fans as they posed for photographs and handed out footballs to some lucky shoppers. A Cranbourne family were also the lucky winners of a skiing holiday to Mt Baw Baw.
Julie Hilman, operations manager of the Homemaker Centre, said despite the cold weather many still went along to enjoy a great family day out.
“It was great to hear the laughter of the children and see smiles on their faces,” she said.
“They especially loved the cuddly ducks and porky pig.”
