Range of art

By Bridget Cook
THE Cranbourne Arts and Craft Society officially opened its inaugural exhibition last week in the Cranbourne Library.
More than 40 works, including paintings, jewellery, quilts and craft, will be on display at the library until 17 July.
Group member Pam Bankes-Fay said the works were from a range of artists from Cranbourne, from beginners to those who had done it all their lives, who had a passion for arts and craft. The group started with just a few people and has grown to have more than 40 members.
Ms Bankes-Fay said the group, and this exhibition, aimed to promote art to the public.
“We want to improve the knowledge, understanding, accessibility and appreciation of art for the public,” she said.
“Since opening we have had interest from about 10 more people who want to join the group,” Ms Bankes-Fay said.
The exhibition can be viewed at the Cranbourne Library, from Monday to Saturday, during trading hours.
