MEDICARE Australia is urging Cranbourne Medicare cardholders and medical practices to use electronic claiming when they visit a health care professional.
In the coming weeks, Medicare Australia Business Development Officers from the Cranbourne area will be keeping local practices up to date on the progress of electronic claiming.
“We want local practice staff to feel confident about using electronic claiming so they can help their patients take advantage of its benefits – such as convenience, speed and simplicity,” Cranbourne Business Development Officer James Elliott said.
“We want more patients to feel comfortable asking practice staff about electronic claiming and how they can use it.”
Electronic claiming allows paying patients to claim the Medicare rebate on-the-spot at their local medical practice so people do not need to travel to a Medicare office to claim their rebate.
