Fire response ‘overwhelming’

A CRANBOURNE retailer has described the community’s response to the Victorian bushfires as overwhelming.
Just days after Black Saturday, Frank Butera from The Good Guys Cranbourne set up boxes in store, appealing for the community to donate canned goods and non-perishable food items for VicRelief Foodbank to distribute to the victims of the devastating bushfires.
Mr Butera said he wanted to thank the community for their generosity.
“People were visiting the store just to drop off food and many people donated several bags of food,” Mr Butera said.
“I was very humbled by the number of ‘good guys’ in the community.”
The Bushfire Appeal was held in all The Good Guys stores across the state during February.
