New parks go

COMMUTERS now have more than 400 new parking spaces available at the Cranbourne Railway Station.
The new car park was opened to train-goers on Friday and more than doubles the previous capacity at the station.
The opening of the car park is the final part of the $37 million Cranbourne Stabling and Station Upgrade project. A new storage facility for six trains and an upgrade of the station was also part of the project.
A spokesperson for Cranbourne MP Jude Perera said the car park was great news for commuters, with more than 700 spaces now available.
“In addition to improved reliability of services, commuters will also benefit from security upgrades and increased accessibility, including the paving of informal paths to allow easier pedestrian access to the station.
“The Dandenong rail corridor services 15 per cent of Melbourne’s population and that’s why we made it a priority transport investment.”
