A GROUP of five youths repeatedly kicked and punched three males and recorded it on a mobile phone in Cranbourne on Monday.
Police said the three males, aged between 16 and 18, were behind the High Street shops near Lyall Street about 12.30pm when five youths approached them, knocked them to the ground and assaulted them.
Police said the youths stole a Neil Diamond CD and tea cup set that the victims had bought as Mother’s Day gifts.
The group of offenders were aged between 14 and 16 years old and were described as being of Maori descent, police said.
One offender was very tall, had a solid build and was wearing a black hooded jumper. One had a red jumper and another recorded the assault on a white mobile phone, police said.
Police are asking the women in the grey Ford station wagon who stopped to help the victims to come forward.
