High speed computers at centre

THE Merinda Park Learning and Community Centre (MPLCC) is up to speed.
The centre has started new computer classes in its refurbished information and technology room using upgraded software.
IT co-ordinator Sue Sayram said the $28,000 grant for upgrades was welcome news for staff and users of the community centre in Cranbourne North.
“We had all of our computers renewed with powerful dual processor computers. This year with the new set up we are offering courses with both MS Vista and MS Windows XP at the same time,” Ms Sayram said.
Photoshop and Dreamweaver courses are also available.
“We are getting good feedback from our students.”
The MPLCC holds computer classes for beginners, seniors, all migrant groups as well as night time classes.
“Students establish computing concepts through discussion within a friendly environment that encourages everyone to ask questions.
“We learn by building on basic computing concepts missing in many adults who didn’t grow up with computers.”
