Tooradin benefits from tractor pull

By Bridget Cook
TOORADIN Tractor Pull and Truck Show Association has donated more than $23,000 to local community groups and organisations.
Proceeds from their annual event, held in January, were distributed to a variety of groups within the community, including those who gave their services on the day.
A cheque presentation was held last Saturday at the Tooradin Airfield, where cheques of up to $3000 were presented.
Tractor Pull Association president Peter McGrath said it was all part of the reason they ran the tractor pull and truck show each year.
“That’s the reason we have done this, to give it back to the community where we can, the best we can,” he said.
Beneficiaries of the money included the Variety Club of Victoria, Tooradin Pre-School, Tooradin Primary School, Toorad-in CFA, Tooradin Foot-ball Club, Tooradin Tennis Club, Balla Ball Lion’s Club, Tooradin Pony Club, Tooradin Junior Football Club, Pakenham Convoy For Kids, Kooweerup Scouts, Tooradin Foreshore Committee and the Tooradin Recreation Reserve.
Tooradin Football Club president Chris Denereaz said the Tractor Pull Association should be congratulated on the work they do.
“They run it for the benefit of the community and should be commended and supported at all levels,” Mr Denereaz said.
