THE Crossway Baptist Church will stage a contemporary show to share the Easter message.
The church in Cranbourne will perform musical items during a DVD presentation of the production The Follower, which is the story of Jesus’ crucifixion through the eyes of one of his apostles Peter, but the show is set in the modern world.
Creative director of the show, Pamela Kohler, said parishioners were very excited about the church’s Easter Sunday performance.
Mrs Kohler said the Crossway Baptist Church often presented entertaining shows for special events as a means to connect with every day people.“We believe that the message of the Bible is real to people, but often they need a way to access it. We want to re-tell the Easter story in a way that will get the normal person on the street interested.”
A program for children will also run at the same time as the production.
Mrs Kohler said anyone was welcome to celebrate Easter by attending the free show.
There will be Easter eggs, hot cross buns and tea and coffee afterwards.
The show will be held at the Cranbourne Community Theatre on Brunt Street in Cranbourne at 10am on Easter Sunday.
