Wall gets go ahead

WORK has started on the development of the ‘international wall of friendship’ at the Balla Balla Centre in Cranbourne East.
The community project was designed to celebrate the cultural diversity in Casey.
The wall, being developed at the rear of the centre, will have messages of harmony from the multicultural communities in Casey.
A landscape design featuring curved display walls, paved areas, garden beds, trees, seating and flagpoles will also be built.
Casey mayor Geoff Ablett said the wall was an exciting and unique community project.
“It is great to see that work is now underway to develop an outdoor community space at the Balla Balla Centre that promotes friendship and goodwill between the ethnic groups that have settled in Casey,” Cr Ablett said.
“It is envisaged that the area will be used as a meeting place where people can gather for special occasions.”
Multicultural and community groups will help to work on the project.
