FOOTY fans at Tricodes Day will be racing to the newly renovated Trackside Sports Bar where they can rub shoulders with Collingwood premiership winner Mick McGuane.
Footy great Mick McGuane will be the host of this year’s Punters Club. He is a regular personality on Sport 927’s breakfast show, Prime Time Sports and has a share in a number of horses.
He also hosted the 2008 Cranbourne Cup Calcutta and correctly tipped “Majestical” to win the Brown’s Sawdust and Shavings Cranbourne Cup.
“The Trackside Sports Bar will be open to all patrons on City of Casey Tricodes Day where we hope Mick McGuane can steer them towards a winner,” Cranbourne Turf Club CEO Neil Bainbridge said.
Mr Bainbridge said race-goers who gather in the Trackside Sports Bar would not only have a chance to meet the former AFL champ, but would also be able to enjoy the newly renovated facilities.
“This will be the first time the Trackside Sports Bar will be opened on City of Casey Tricodes Day after recent renovations and refurbishments to the old public bar,” he said.
Punters will enjoy giant plasma screens, all the tote odds, TAB betting terminals and Carlton Draught on tap. They also have the opportunity to try their hand at the TAB Trackside virtual racing game in between the gallops, harness and dogs.
