HOLT MP Anthony Byrne has been promoted to the role of Parliamentary Secretary for Trade.
Mr Byrne was sworn in by the Governor-General, Quentin Bryce, in Canberra on 25 February.
My Byrne said the trade portfolio was an important role in assisting businesses with export opportunities to support Australian jobs, particularly in the current financial climate.
“Anthony Byrne MP has been appointed as Parliamentary Secretary for Trade in addition to his duties as Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister.
My Byrne’s additional responsibilities are a reflection of the significant contribution he has made to the government in his current role,” Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said.
