CFA bowls in

TWILIGHT bowls took on added meaning at the Hampton Park Bowls Club last week, when members invited the CFA crew to join their weekly event.
The club welcomed the men and women of the HamptonPark CFA last Thursday for their usual twilight social function of a sausage sizzle and game of bowls.
More than $1000 was raised from the event and donated to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Hampton Park CFA first lieutenant Arnaud Marion said he was very pleased to be invited to a local sporting club’s social gathering.
“We are all volunteers so we do this for the community. Being invited to something like this is a great thankyou and really motivates us to keep doing what we do,” Mr Marion said.
Hampton Park CFA members have been fighting fires in the Narre Warren area, as well as statewide in Kinglake, Bunyip and Wilsons Promontory.
