BRING out the mixing bowl and dust off that old family recipe.
The second Hampton Park Community House bake-off will held on 28 March, and now is the time to enter.
People are invited to enter their best cake, savory or sweet to raise money for the Hampton Park Community House, which provides education for adults and recreational courses and activities for children.
The competition is open to all ages, and includes a section for under 12s. People will also be able to peruse market stands at the bake-off.
The Hampton Park Networking Group coordinates the event, and president Vanessa Gerdes said the group hoped to raise more than $1000 this year.
“We had a great time last year, and the judges had a ball. It’s a bit of fun.”
Ms Gerdes said the Hampton Park Community House was a worthy recipient of the money.
“Through the many years of operation the house has been able to provide pathways for individuals and families, allowing them to develop along with the community they live in,” Ms Gerdes said.
“This money will help keep programs and activities at the community house.”
Registration forms for the bake-off are available from the Hampton Park Cheesecake Shop, Lucy’s Devine Cakes and the Hampton Park Community House.
The cost for each entry is $5 and a stall costs $10.
