NIGEL’S Animal Rescue was full to the brim with donations of feed and pet food that residents donated in the aftermath of devastating bushfires.
As reported in the News last week, Nigel Williamson’s business in Devon Meadows has been a drop off point for residents to donate feed for farmers to give to their cattle.
Mr Williamson said the donations poured in, and he had to organise a warehouse to store some of the food and pet accessories.
“It’s overwhelming. People have been wonderful. We have been making trips to fire affected areas all week. We have been giving them directly to farmers so we know it’s going straight to the right people.”
Volunteers helped in the convoys to deliver to fire-stricken areas in Healesville, Labertouche and Churchill.
