PEOPLE are being encouraged to donate feed for cattle affected by the weekend’s devastating bushfires.
Barrie Tapp from the Animal Cruelty Hotline in Cranbourne said many farmers had lost cattle, but also paddocks and hay to feed animals that survived.
“But really we are accepting absolutely everything and anything for pets.”
Mr Tapp said leads, toys and food for dogs and cats were also welcome. Deliveries to farmers in the Labertouche area would be made each day, Mr Tapp said. “Farmers have no feed left after this rotten devastation.”
People can drop off feed to Nigel’s Animal Rescue in Devon Meadows.
Anyone who would like to volunteer to deliver the feed can call the Animal Cruelty Hotline on 1800 751 770.
